Step 1- Look for inspiration everywhere

Modern life can be stressful. Work is intense, family demands can be exhausting, and we’re bombarded by the news, advertising and social media always!

Sometimes we need to just stand back and strip everything back to basics. Enjoying each little moment for what it is.

The smile in our children’s faces, the smell of hot coffee in the morning, the sun on our face as we step outside in the morning. Life is made up of these little things, so enjoying them for all their worth is bound to make for a more enjoyable life.

Step 2 - Focus on what you CAN do

You can dwell on the difficulties or problems, or focus on the opportunities and solutions. Think about what you CAN do rather than worrying about things you can’t change.

In every situation, there’s always something you CAN do more, better or differently. Find that thing, and put your energy into it!

Step 3 – Break your goals down!

Are you a  ‘‘gonna’  person? The type of person who is ‘gonna’ do change things, makes big new year resolutions, but doesn’t do anything when it comes down to it! Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda….it doesn’t count! Did you or didn’t you?

If you’re one of these people – the best solution to breaking the mold of ‘gonna’ is to start small and build up. Whatever your goal is, break it down into small achievable blocks.

Want to get fit? Start by doing 2 pushups and 2 sit-ups, Not 100, not 50, just 2!

It’s easy to do and it’s easy not to do – but it’s YOUR choice!

Step 4- Put in the work and enjoy the rewards

As you probably know, I’m a big believer in putting in the hard work required for success and that true achievements don’t come without discipline and toil.

For that reason, I’m also a huge believer in the importance of celebrating when your hard work pays off!

The common practice is to set goals and then work towards those goals. But here’s the thing - most people don’t notice whether they even achieve their goals as they are already preoccupied with ‘new’ or ‘better’ goals by the time they have finished their last ones!

Before moving on to your new goals it’s super important to pause, celebrate about what you have achieved, and reset before moving ahead! This will ensure you are still going in the right direction, and ensures you’ll have some fun along the way!
